Alma Zois helped me a lot when I was going through the whole process.
I wanted to find a way to tell them thank you, I wanted to put even a small contribution to help other women who were facing this disease.
I wanted to find myself with them. On the race day last year I had just had surgery and I couldn’t participate. But this year could. I will not miss no way.
I visit to the website to get information. I tried to achieve some sponsorship but did not succeed.
Then I saw the “individual initiative”. I’ll try and do that. Whatever you do, however small or large and is will be for good.
I started promoting the material and giving registrations where I could. Initially in my job, my friends, my relatives, stores I was shopping.
My daughters gave applications and gathered contributions and donations from their peers and their parents, their teachers, their own friends.
Gradually they began to seek applications and create their own groups. The response was excellent.
The day of the race arrived.
Anyway I had put in my mind I could not imagine what I would live.
In the subway, on the streets, on the stairs people – women, men, children wear t-shirts and hats to match. Recognize each other as if they know each other from time, we were smiling stare and it was like talking with eyes.
We were going to a feast. In a celebration of the victory. Victory because we knew that we can run faster than his shadow. YES we really can succeed.
We carried an important message: “Early detection saves lives” and was next to us, our families, our friends, volunteers, organizers of the event. All had become one.
All this energy of love and support anything other than pleasure, especially anything from ‘Life’ could offer;
It’s great to know that you are not alone!
I look forward to relive!
